City Above the Clouds
I was going to my wedding in a city in Iceland, yet above the clouds. Here I walked with my brother. It was incredible that they are stable enough to walk and build on. Huge trucks laden with supplies even went across them. Trees grew too and my brother said, “Yes, there is water underneath”. I could poke my hand down and lo and behold, there it was.
I went into a building and talked to two girls, who spoke a language remarkably like Japanese. Then I started to head back, as the wedding was drawing near. I went into a huge school, kind of old yet ornate in it’s design.
An explorer had been travelling with me and showed me his specimen case. There were lots of insect-like creatures, with human-shaped heads in the likenesses of people I know. He said that the trip had been a great success, thanks to me. If he had only found one of these creatures, it would be enough to secure his funding, but having several was a miraculous find. As I walked back to the wedding-place, he wished me well for the future.

A Spiritual Quest
I was walking along and talking to God, but it was a dream within a dream. I was with a friend here and god showed me a method for finding out truth- just look into the reflection of my own face, or my own green eyes, to find it, even in my mind- as all the answers we seek are to be found within. The voice from within, which was clear and calm, said that this is the method he would prefer I’d use, which suggests that there are others, too.
I was then jumping from one block to another in an abstract small landscape, with god teaching me how to land and avoid danger, again throw that voice and through me visualising my own face.
I was then walking down a crowded street, being careful not to step on the small children all around me. One woman scolded me for almost bumping into her little girl, but I pointed out that I am a nice guy and showed her the other child I also narrowly missed stepping on. I looked down and the more I looked, the more small creatures I could see, not just children, but dogs, too- Chiwawas, Yorkshire Terriers and so on. I leaned down and picked up a small green thing and it was a glowing globe, an entire planet, with shifting skies and continents amidst an emerald sea. Watching over the whole place was a god-like being, who saw the little inhabitants as his children, there to be protected.
Keeping walking, I was then in another scene, walking with a girl near a temple. Suddenly, wild animals gathered, looking menacing- a leopard, a puma, a wolf. We ran towards the temple grounds and as we did so, a strange man appeared suddenly and transformed into a heroic figure in robes and golden headdress. The shining light he projected made the big cats cry out and then suddenly whimper, turning around.
When we made it into the temple grounds, one jumped in there with us, a wolf. It snarled. The man had vanished, so I picked up the wolf and threw it. It just rebounded off the invisible barrier keeping safe in there, even when I tried again. I decided it best to be safe and strangled it, and then ripped it’s head off. Both pieces could be hurled out safely. It was a grisly solution, but the best one.
The scene suddenly changed, and I was in a comics café or something in Tokyo. On the TV was the same mystical figure as the man who’d appeared, walking with friends in an anime show. I wondered, had I been dreaming or what- another dimension perhaps?
I was with Yuko in a café and two colourfully dressed Orthodox Jews, with long beard and festive decorations over their black clothing, were going around and asking for money. Yuko froze up, feeling something sinister despite their jovial ways. We declined to give a donation and then one of them magiced up a green jelly on a plate before he walked off. Yuko took my arm and whispered ‘he spat in it’, something I didn’t believe, but then he leaned down and put his mouth next to it and some liquid flowed out.
They walked on and suddenly I felt bad and ran after them, saying ‘Yuko, you’re acting like an anti-Semitic Nazi or something’, to give them a hundred yen towards the jelly. She told me “No, honestly, as soon as they came over, my arm froze up, like they had a bad energy”. Thinking about the mouth incident, I then believed her and apologised for doubting. I think that religious fanatics are dangerous people, not that everyday Jewish people have anything inherently wrong. This sinister touch came from twisted religion that was hostile to outsiders, which is not representative of Jews in general by any means.
Note- Waking up, I wondered- is this something Ms T did to me, who was also something of a vengeful religious fanatic?
I am amazed by the vivid, psychedelic contents, and especially by hearing ‘God’s’ voice, which did sound like a loving father. I wonder if embellished versions of this could actually make literature. Even writing this, I felt like adding, as it is all from the same imagination. I may actually have opened a door into my subconscious, or even into the Universal subconscious that Jung wrote of.
Maybe, if I open my mind to it, I can contact God directly more often- this was almost like a small conversation with Him at times.
I may well have been heavily influenced by the third episode of The Mighty Boosh, Series 2, I watched the night before, where they see the adventures of two rock stars, who seek out new music in the desert and find an inner Enlightenment to be the key after all. One starts off with a door in his hat and the other acquires one, maybe being doors to the universal unconscious?
It is interesting that the colour green appeared so many times and that my eyes are green (really they are usually hazel, but in the dream, bright green). It’s almost as if it was all taking place inside me- which, in a way, being a dream, it actually was! Of course, the voice of God was probably my own voice, purified- though it did seem to be from another person, something like a TV announcer, at the time.

Magical Park
I was going to a large national park with my mum and wandered off to see a rocky enclosure, quite high up. At first the rocks seemed random and messy- even ugly. I decided though to sit and appreciate the nature, even get absorbed into it, so as to escape from the rut of living with my family and all the little stresses involved in it. Suddenly, a mystical force revealed complex patterns to the rock's arrangements- just what I had been wanting to see. Ridges appeared at regular intervals, looking something like faces and reminding me of Aztec artistic styles. I resolved to spend the night here and really get deeply into it; but first, I needed something to drink.
I found a store with a strange bag of something that was either an energy-drink or a kind of medicine, which I kept for later. Walking on down the path, I found my mum and we went to the park cafe. The lady there was from some kind of Scandinavian country. She poured me a glass of mint tea, but spilled it a bit, so said I could have it for free. Then I ordered a cookie and a bit of it was broken off so she said I could have that for free too. I wondered out loud if I was being selfish in accepting this generosity without a struggle, but it seemed to be too late and I was happy to have the good luck.
Then we walked for a bit and I found a much larger bag of liquid, which I added my small bag too and it all changed colour, which made me think that it must be some kind of medicine or something. Then I found a small creature that seemed to be a cat. I decided to take it home to be friends with my cat, Tipsy and shelved my plans.
When we got home, to our old place in Ling's Coppice, I put it down and Tipsy came up to meet it, but it seemed to bite or scratch him, as he recoiled, holding his eyes. I picked up the little black thing again and scolded it, then put it down- yet it did the same thing again. It was cold outside, but I felt I couldn't risk letting it hurt Tipsy more.
I threw it out the back door and it separated into two little black creatures, that suddenly grew into what were either raccoons or the kind of mystical lions you see guarding Japanese temples. Milton, our puppy, went up and they seemed to kind of play, maybe a little roughly, but no-one seemed hurt by it. So now we had a pair of magical creatures in the garden- or were they just raccoons?
Then I awoke!

Police Riding Animals
I had a dream where I went for a walk in a nearby town, when I saw a remarkable sight .Japanese police were training, in an exercise to use animals to smell for a criminal. They were riding large blackbirds, the way police in other countries ride horses. Further down the street, they were on large gophers and one was even riding a swan. I saw a bunch of them, some having other animals on leashes, some riding on dogs. I was a little worried one of the animals would be surprised by my smell and rush after me, but at the same time, I wanted to take a picture.
I only had my mobile with me. It was late afternoon and I took it out and zoomed in- but it focused on a group of chameleons stacked on one another, each of them having as many eyes as a spider. Suddenly our big old dog, Amber came up from behind me and put her paws on my shoulders. I said to her, “Get off!” and pulled them down, as they were scratching. We then walked, along with Yuko, straight into my old home in Ling’s Coppice. Amber looked sheepishly down at her paws, as if she was saying, ‘As if I’d ever hurt you with these!’ Yuko then said, as she and Amber lay down on the floor next to one another, “You see, I’m just so beautiful!”
Then I woke up.

Bird Salvation
I was walking to school, pondering as I sometimes do just how hard it all is, how vulnerable the little man is in life, with all the forces arrayed around him, often seeming so unsympathetic of our fate. "Who is to help us?", I wondered. I imagined the Guardian Angels, ever-watching over us, ever sympathetic. I wondered why angels were so often depicted with white, out-stretched wings.
Suddenly, into my mind flashed an image of a huge, Garuda-like bird, coming down to save a man and carry him to safety on her back. With a hard, almost armoured head, the difficult things of life are nothing for such a bird, who can protect us from any danger. I was reminded of the saying of Jesus that God looks after even the smallest of birds, he sees when they need food and when they fall from the nest.
Commentary- Imagine my surprise when I came into school, a warm feeling of safety suffusing me after my vision, to see that charming Yoko-Chan had rescue a little bird. In an ironic reversal of my vision, a human was helping a bird. She had saved it from her cat, who had hunted it and brought it to her the day before. She was taking it to school so as to take it to an animal charity later in the day, not wanting it to be endangered at home. She told me that she had lain awake all night worrying about it.
I was struck not just with the similarity of the vision, but that also another teacher that I had become very friendly with had had a similar experience, in which she saved a poor dogs life when another teacher had wanted to call the animal catcher and have it put down instead. This was such a similar show of heartfelt compassion and purity of mind, that I started to wonder if it is a sign, God telling me that these are people to be trusted. For them, too, it is like a kind of life-test... which is more important, their convenience or ending the suffering of another. In each case, they chose the path of kindness, which is beautiful.

Future Mamalia (12/01/2005)
I was out with Yuko and her brother, going for a drive in the Japanese countryside. Yet suddenly we noticed that something had changed. The cows and sheep we were used to had been replaced by strange new forms of mammals. They were slightly crude and unattractive and altogether unfamiliar- yet as with any new species also fascinating. Yukos brother started to fly with us over the landscape, covered with these strange creatures and strange new birds. The Earth had changed drastically, I thought- from typhoons and hurricanes to tsunami and now new creatures springing up from seemingly nowhere. Yuko and me touched down and her brother flew off. Bison-like creatures started to group around us, in a fashion that seemed quite menacing, as if they were not quite well-disposed towards humans such as ourselves. I thought of a way out.
By intoning 'Ohm' - the sacred syllable, I could pacify them and show we ourselves meant no harm. In fact, they started intoning it too, the sound rippling through the entire herd as they relaxed and made way for us.
We were in a strange new world. Yet one in which the proper solutions were as peaceful as ever.
Note- The world is changing drastically and we humans are caught up in this. The best ways are peaceful consideration- this in itself breeds safety.

Creatures of the Inner Earth (28/12/2004)
My mum had a job getting creatures from the waters in the center of the earth up with a suction device which could catch them before they change and then taking them to be seen by people. This was in the days of John F Kennedy and the creatures were generally shrimps with a human like face or small marsupials. Once they emerged from the earth they would transform so it was important to have them in the holding device. In this, a tube, a small fish would be caught and as it furiously transformed, spiky green tendrils like a fir tree would spiral out, which if touched, were dangerously sharp.
I tried to do this and found the creatures hard to catch- when I failed they would wriggle away and melt in a watery goo. They I caught one and held them on a kind of platter, trying to rush in bringing them up- but as I left the door for the upper levels, some slivered off the plate and started to melt. They were leaving a terrible mess, so I wretched a not-so-good painting off the wall in an indented square frame, made by another inhabitant of this underground complex and tried to use it as a bowl. It wasn't deep enough, so I got another, yet failed and the shrimp, with their intelligent faces, left a gelatinous puddle of mess which would soon stink.
I asked mum- 'didn't you ever fail to keep hold of them' on the journey to the upper levels - and she says she didn't, implying all sorts of solutions were improvised to prevent dropping them.
Note- maybe this applies to the creative process, it's elements coming from 'the deep waters' and they being easy to drop if the appropriate sacrificial actions aren't made in time.
