Dreams and Reflections

A Diary of Dreams

*** Introduction ***

This Blog is planned as a dream diary. In a sense it was started years ago, when I privately kept one, though unfortunately, in the process of formatting hard drives, all but a few of those dreams have been lost... Yet over the past few years, the diary resumed intermittently and I'm hoping this blog will inspire me to continue it. These dreams, or visions, call them what you will, may at times seem obscure; but they have inspired me in many other areas of my life and I have come to view them as heavenly 'gifts' to help guide me.

I dated this post as if written in the future, keeping it 'sticky' and at the top of the page. The earliest posts here are dreams from the last few years- and after that more recent ones. Thanks to Blogger Beta, I can finally rearrange them on the page in the order in which they were experienced. Just hit the 'Dream On...' button for more of the dream and maybe a commentary or two.
*(a feature currently disabled, as not supported yet in the aformentioned Blogger Beta, though hopefully be restored!)

So, without further ado... may the dreams begin!

Journey to Another world

I am in a place with many weird creatures- peacocks, the baby ones as small as a beetle but looking the same. Little big-eyes, who rush around like cat-like ghosts when you approach. Also spiny vegetation which scurries away and can tend to cling to you if you frighten it.

To warn of their approach, kids wear small slippers with pictures of black and white eyes on the toes. I didn't know, so I kept being surprised by the catty-rushing and plant-straggling. I had plants cling to me and only slowly slide off, struggling all the while.

But I was pleased to see the polygon fruit drop from the skies. It looks so sweet and nourishing. And when I saw the signs near the slippers I started to understand things here."Please walk gently. No beating of creatures near the living area. Kids, please wear slippers." If I had known, I would have worn a pair too. But for now, lets just enjoy the polygon fruit!

Sky Theatre

A friend I met boasted about having a huge sound system in his house. Seeing the enormous speakers, I was worried that it would annoy the neighbours, but I didn’t say anything for fear of offending him, as I wanted to marry his daughter. He said not to worry, and the entire house unmoored itself and blasted forth into the sky, soon floating high above the town and then in the lower reaches of the stratosphere. Anti-ballistic missiles that had been fired at it waved around in the sky like caught fish, repelled by a strong, protective magnetic field.

“Now I’ll show you movies”, he boasted, and started up the most incredible home theatre I’ve seen in my life.

A Psychedelic Dream of Snow

I was in an old house in the countryside. Strange creatures were to be found stuffed on the walls. My mother was very old and needed some special apparatus to change into her clothes as she went in and out of it and got angry if you looked at her while she did this. We were going out for a short walk to see the town.

It was snowing outside. I was very hungry, so I started eating the snow and tissues in my pocket. I realised that this may not be a good idea, but it would be a long time until dinner time and what else did I have? I needed to keep up with the others even though it was all so beautiful here and I wanted to explore. I could slide down huge slopes to reach them, though I knew I have to be careful about sliding into the road.

We made it back to the ouse and started changing, to have lunch. I was thinking of getting my camera ready for when we go out again. Wanting something light to carry around, I decided using the 35mm f/1.8 lens would be great, as pictures in the snow always look good and there'd be no need to zoom around. We went into the house, my mum using the contraption to get her outside clothes off and inside ones on. In we were- and there was a garden with a strange, centipede-like creature; but no, it wasn't a centipede. It was a long 'human-like' creature, with, I counted them, 8 limbs. It was something that really shouldn't exist- and there were more of them in a nearby tree. Suddenly a baby rhino ran up to me and I caught it. Bigger rhinos were running and there were soldiers from an evil empire chasing them. What was going on and where was my video camera when I needed it?

ASs we got closer to the big, old house, I found out that now the evil army was defeated. A line of them were emerging, their hands on their heads in gestures of surrender. A green Luke Skywalker was amongst them ,the victor in their struggle. I thought that maybe my arrival and discovery of the strange creatures had brought the matter to a close. Were our two dimensions meeting at this point, our perspectives merging? We gave a glance of acknowledgement to each other.

Then I woke up.

Man in the Mirror

Recently, I have had a lot of dreams with 'Man in the Mirror' as the backing music. Then, I was asked by a friend to edit one of his student's speeches on the same topic, who believed this is what we need to change andwasSErstein taking speech training lessons to be a singer himself. I feel that some force, or higher enteties were calling me. Then, just the other day I had the day off and Yuko was invited to go to see Deepak Chopra and others at a conference in Tokyo. Seeing as Chopra was a kind of Guru for Michael, who almost certainly opened his mind to those concepts, originally from a speech by Ghandi himself, and others, I was thrilled to be able to go (it was a Thursday morning, how about that?!)

The experience was unforgettable with various speakers, incredible music and dancing and a new emotion created in me. Now I realise that I want to be the change I seek for in the world. Some special spiritual knowledge was transmitted from Chopra, clearly a living master, to us.

The Man in the Mirror is changing and with it, in how ever small a way, the world.

Mountain Art

It was in the mountains, maybe in South America. I was with a couple of people training there, amidst many ancient, dusty statues. The air was exhilerating but the statues seemed lifeless.

What I do remember is them being given some kind of resin to rub onto the figures heads. This removed the dust and maybe other layers, revealling bright, colourful faces. It required some heavy-duty rubbing and I wondered if it wouldn't be easier just to spray the dust off with water.

Only on awaking I realised- there are no such mechanical shortcuts. The hard work of rubbing ius necessary- and the resin used must be magical to work at all.

The Hidden World

I have been having a lot of psychedelic dreams lately; here is what I can remember of the latest one.
I was learning through watching that Earl Gray tea was actually found by an Italian explorer and is one of he only things my friend likes about Italy. As you stir in half-frozen cream and it froths up around the edges, it is like sailing through Antarctic waters, with flurries of icebergs and currents- in fact this is what it actually is, if you look closely enough.

Early in the morning, some Japanese girls get up to go to the top of the mountain, where they have always gone, to get magical eggs. One comes down and the others, along with her, say she has become a ‘Cutorian’ by way of support. In fact, they are speaking very fast Japanese so I am not entirely sure what they are doing, but it is magical and ‘cute’.
