Recently, I have had a lot of dreams with 'Man in the Mirror' as the backing music. Then, I was asked by a friend to edit one of his student's speeches on the same topic, who believed this is what we need to change andwasSErstein taking speech training lessons to be a singer himself. I feel that some force, or higher enteties were calling me. Then, just the other day I had the day off and Yuko was invited to go to see Deepak Chopra and others at a conference in Tokyo. Seeing as Chopra was a kind of Guru for Michael, who almost certainly opened his mind to those concepts, originally from a speech by Ghandi himself, and others, I was thrilled to be able to go (it was a Thursday morning, how about that?!)
The experience was unforgettable with various speakers, incredible music and dancing and a new emotion created in me. Now I realise that I want to be the change I seek for in the world. Some special spiritual knowledge was transmitted from Chopra, clearly a living master, to us.
The Man in the Mirror is changing and with it, in how ever small a way, the world.

City Above the Clouds
I was going to my wedding in a city in Iceland, yet above the clouds. Here I walked with my brother. It was incredible that they are stable enough to walk and build on. Huge trucks laden with supplies even went across them. Trees grew too and my brother said, “Yes, there is water underneath”. I could poke my hand down and lo and behold, there it was.
I went into a building and talked to two girls, who spoke a language remarkably like Japanese. Then I started to head back, as the wedding was drawing near. I went into a huge school, kind of old yet ornate in it’s design.
An explorer had been travelling with me and showed me his specimen case. There were lots of insect-like creatures, with human-shaped heads in the likenesses of people I know. He said that the trip had been a great success, thanks to me. If he had only found one of these creatures, it would be enough to secure his funding, but having several was a miraculous find. As I walked back to the wedding-place, he wished me well for the future.

We Are the World
I was hearing, surrounded by, the whole world singing in harmony, 'We are world, we are the Children', the Band-aid release. I realised the hidden meaning- that in actuality we are all the members that make up the world. There is no separation between us and this and especially in the case of the children, the most vulnerable and sensetive part of humanity.
Comment- The words echoed around my head and reminded me of those by Jiddhu Krishnamurti- we are indeed the world. In this there is hope, as through little acts of kindness we can influence it for the better. We must be brave enough to care and to reach out to our fellow-beings in need. This is love, life and the true reality..

Singapore
I was seeing the latest video by a techno-group, a remix of a Jimi Hendrix song that they made for the new Millennium. They had decided to film the skyline of a city that seemed like Singapore. Skyscrapers were stretching into the sky and what looked like models of inter-racial couples were embracing beneath the vast sunset.
But then the camera continued to pan onto what looked like a chaotic mess of containers and rubbish in backstreets near the port. I hear the band's voice- "We made this to show how waste and sludge is spreading all over the world, threatening to engulf it. We have to save our planet before it is too late"

Return From Space
We came back from a trip into space, to explore some things in our galaxy. There was a new computer at mission control. We looked out of the window, and noticed that it had changed position. Looking again, a few minutes later, it had changed again. We looked to each other- it had robotised itself and come to life! Outside, there were tripod-like structures with cameras in their single 'eye', as now it was spying on us.
We rushed out of the ship, something like a modified 777, and just in time, as it was torn apart with lasers. We went straight for tunnels running under the streets on London, hastily planning a resistance. There could be a base back where Mission Control had been, and we would rush around the world, organising people.
We wondered what was the vulnerability of the computers- and suddenly it hit us- pumpkin pies! In a tunnel by a bakery, we found a batch stockpiled already, so we picked some up and dashed out into the streets. We were near a shopping mall, where people were running and screaming, though a few had the pies. We shouted for people to follow us into the tunnels, lobbing pies over their heads as we did. We were leading them to freedom.
Then I awoke.
Commentary- I felt this dream was a warning as to the possibilities of technology evolving beyond our means to control it. Not that this would necessarily be a bad thing, if we could form, a meaningful relationship with the 'intelligence' this unveiled. The problem is it's coldness, it's dedication to problem-solving, at the expense of 'warm-hearted' human concern. It seems that the mission control computer, like HAL in 2001, had decided to take the task of advancing science into it's own hands.
At first glance, the pumpkin pies are a ridiculous touch. But they show the need to focus on unimagined weaknesses in a high-tech opponent's defenses. With a bit of ingenuity and luck, even the most imposing opponents can be overcome.
