A Psychedelic Dream of Snow

I was in an old house in the countryside. Strange creatures were to be found stuffed on the walls. My mother was very old and needed some special apparatus to change into her clothes as she went in and out of it and got angry if you looked at her while she did this. We were going out for a short walk to see the town.

It was snowing outside. I was very hungry, so I started eating the snow and tissues in my pocket. I realised that this may not be a good idea, but it would be a long time until dinner time and what else did I have? I needed to keep up with the others even though it was all so beautiful here and I wanted to explore. I could slide down huge slopes to reach them, though I knew I have to be careful about sliding into the road.

We made it back to the ouse and started changing, to have lunch. I was thinking of getting my camera ready for when we go out again. Wanting something light to carry around, I decided using the 35mm f/1.8 lens would be great, as pictures in the snow always look good and there'd be no need to zoom around. We went into the house, my mum using the contraption to get her outside clothes off and inside ones on. In we were- and there was a garden with a strange, centipede-like creature; but no, it wasn't a centipede. It was a long 'human-like' creature, with, I counted them, 8 limbs. It was something that really shouldn't exist- and there were more of them in a nearby tree. Suddenly a baby rhino ran up to me and I caught it. Bigger rhinos were running and there were soldiers from an evil empire chasing them. What was going on and where was my video camera when I needed it?

ASs we got closer to the big, old house, I found out that now the evil army was defeated. A line of them were emerging, their hands on their heads in gestures of surrender. A green Luke Skywalker was amongst them ,the victor in their struggle. I thought that maybe my arrival and discovery of the strange creatures had brought the matter to a close. Were our two dimensions meeting at this point, our perspectives merging? We gave a glance of acknowledgement to each other.

Then I woke up.

City Above the Clouds

I was going to my wedding in a city in Iceland, yet above the clouds. Here I walked with my brother. It was incredible that they are stable enough to walk and build on. Huge trucks laden with supplies even went across them. Trees grew too and my brother said, “Yes, there is water underneath”. I could poke my hand down and lo and behold, there it was.

I went into a building and talked to two girls, who spoke a language remarkably like Japanese. Then I started to head back, as the wedding was drawing near.  I went into a huge school, kind of old yet ornate in it’s design.

An explorer had been travelling with me and showed me his specimen case. There were lots of insect-like creatures, with human-shaped heads in the likenesses of people I know. He said that the trip had been a great success, thanks to me. If he had only found one of these creatures, it would be enough to secure his funding, but having several was a miraculous find. As I walked back to the wedding-place, he wished me well for the future.

The End

Magical Park

I was going to a large national park with my mum and wandered off to see a rocky enclosure, quite high up. At first the rocks seemed random and messy- even ugly. I decided though to sit and appreciate the nature, even get absorbed into it, so as to escape from the rut of living with my family and all the little stresses involved in it. Suddenly, a mystical force revealed complex patterns to the rock's arrangements- just what I had been wanting to see. Ridges appeared at regular intervals, looking something like faces and reminding me of Aztec artistic styles. I resolved to spend the night here and really get deeply into it; but first, I needed something to drink.

I found a store with a strange bag of something that was either an energy-drink or a kind of medicine, which I kept for later. Walking on down the path, I found my mum and we went to the park cafe. The lady there was from some kind of Scandinavian country. She poured me a glass of mint tea, but spilled it a bit, so said I could have it for free. Then I ordered a cookie and a bit of it was broken off so she said I could have that for free too. I wondered out loud if I was being selfish in accepting this generosity without a struggle, but it seemed to be too late and I was happy to have the good luck.

Then we walked for a bit and I found a much larger bag of liquid, which I added my small bag too and it all changed colour, which made me think that it must be some kind of medicine or something. Then I found a small creature that seemed to be a cat. I decided to take it home to be friends with my cat, Tipsy and shelved my plans.

When we got home, to our old place in Ling's Coppice, I put it down and Tipsy came up to meet it, but it seemed to bite or scratch him, as he recoiled, holding his eyes. I picked up the little black thing again and scolded it, then put it down- yet it did the same thing again. It was cold outside, but I felt I couldn't risk letting it hurt Tipsy more.

I threw it out the back door and it separated into two little black creatures, that suddenly grew into what were either raccoons or the kind of mystical lions you see guarding Japanese temples. Milton, our puppy, went up and they seemed to kind of play, maybe a little roughly, but no-one seemed hurt by it. So now we had a pair of magical creatures in the garden- or were they just raccoons?

Then I awoke!

Pond Life

I was at my Dad’s house in Portugal, which had a huge pond outside it. On the sides of the pond were little canopies in which small frogs shaded under very small palm leaves. In the waters, the tadpoles swam, all producing multiple layers of depth, as things got smaller and smaller, a bit like the pond scene in the Japanese Studio Ghibli animation ‘Naoshika’. George Lucus was filming there, as the basis for the start of his latest epic. that would explore the battles of The Force from the microscopic world up.

Somehow, one of the actors in the film was an exact double of me, perhaps another member of a ‘group personality’. He had lived in India all his life and we were spiritual twins. It was reassuring yet unnerving at the same time, to know that there is ‘another me’ in the world.

Then my father came in. Apparently, he had been told to stop smoking by his doctor, but was given some new herbal concoction to smoke. He stood by the wall near the pond, rolling up a joint of it.

Another Dimention to WW2 (29/06/2006)

With M and D, walking in some ruins in the evening, talking about the end of WW2 and of Japan's role. We hear and sing the song 'You are everybody' that Charlie sings in the TV series 'Lost'. We decide to go back in time to see what really happened to other people, who were really us too, back in that time.

We see a massive machine like a flying beetle with a laser in the nose, that Japan made many of during the war, cutting through things with it's nose-laser. We see something using similar technology made by Holland and go, 'ah they copied that and made it better'. We seem to be debating on how original japan can be or whether really everything is in some way copied.

The scene cuts to a young, modern-day commentator. She is commenting on a sports program, where robot-buggies with a small laser-gun in the top of their windshield are moving through marshes. She says that they will look back at stories of the difficult things that Japanese soldiers went through when fighting in such places.

There are a small group on jet-bikes, wearing goggles. They are facing remote-controlled mini- machine guns that had been set up by the Dutch. They seem to be in groups of three, the fire coming from many angles. Seeing them and moving around the area, the scene cut to a computer display. They had been set up to perfectly cover a lot of the area and the group were looking for gaps through which to travel. Changing to a car, they found that they were being pursued. Most of them are women and good friends, yet there is only one thing for it. One of them needs to get out of the car and soak her jeans in the marsh water to reduce the scent and make them harder to follow. She doesn't really want to do this as it goes against the purity of Japanese women and their delicacy, but there is nothing else for it. In the process, her and her friend have lost a lot of blood and are exhausted- they would dearly love to take a rest but the pursuers are just too close. They start up again and this time are on a highway, where they are surrounded by other vehicles going at great speed. It is hard to drive and weave between them in this state, but they have no choice...

Then the alarm went.

States of Beingness (25/02/2006)

I had an interesting dream just now. Now, whoever you are, you shall get updates on my dreams almost as quickly as I do! Dreams, for me, are not constructions of my mind, though by the choices of materials, they do reflect it.

I had gone on a journey to a distant land. Yet I was in a restaurant run by someone from my own country. He was a big man, who seemed full of cheer, yet also of sadness. Full of emotion- that energy which spreads through humanity like the oceans through the Earth- rocking, swaying, with no definite reason we can fathom. Also, always the joker! He reminded me in some ways of my Stepfather.

Here he was, telling me, with his body-language as well as his words, that he had over-indulged with psychedelic substances the night before. He was not just a cook- he was a man who parties! He said 'Just by looking at me now, you can be tripping!' Also at the table was the former prime-minister of Norway. He solemnly and lightly told me that he had failed his country in the recent furor over cartoons of the prophet Muhammad. He was waiting for his food, at the head of the table, depreciating himself in that light and civilised way that only a modern-day Scandinavian could. He seemed to have done his best and I told him so... Yet still he bowed down his head, 'I am not a good prime-minister'. In a nearby cabinet were some kit-cats, covered in the Danish flag.

And tripping I was... The dream moved on and I next found myself in a room with two young Rastafarians, talking happily and cool about things. They were joking about New York Jewish mothers getting their kids to do all kinds of extra stuff and you could see they admired their traits but were also joking about them- I felt a warmth. "Are you Jewish..?" They asked. I said I was, but that I only believed in some of it. I then went into the subject of religion in a way that obviously bored them, probably they were more interested in a more human angle and they left through a door.

I soon followed and found it opened into a village. I wondered where to focus my attention and looked at the plants. There was a flower on the ground. Her petals had been strewn in a circle around her, and I could feel her saying, somewhat sadly, yet also with the happiness of self-completion... 'That was my life'. Yes, in a psychedelic way I could feel the emotion of plants, as well as seeing so much more clearly their beauty.

Now I was somewhat alone in this small garden, whilst the villagers went about their lives. I was free to think- what should I best teach people, how best to do so? For probably by teaching I can help them the most. After boring the Rastafarians I realised a more interesting approach may be needed. So I thought a bit about the principal of R.T. - the method of education revealed to me by an angel ('Religious Truth'), and how I could see this in life. How I could see the real values and meanings and make them into stories for people whose minds are bored by theories and abstraction. To save the innocent from being mislead to guide them on the paths of life.

One way is evidently plants- they have beauty and they have dramas- everyone likes pictures of flowers, for instance, even if they don't really know why other than their aesthetic qualities. Another way may be to talk about the future, as a way of making the realities of the present more clear. Yet just being in this quiet village was starting to bore me and there was something colourless about it- perhaps not really the village itself but I needed something more stimulating.

So I, this being in a dream with such freedom of movement, boarded an ocean liner heading further east, which plunged into the ocean, heading for new lands. We pulled up briefly at a port in Hong Kong. The port-staff were Asian, with golden caps emblazoned with the royal crest, a leftover from the British Empire- for me a familiar sight in such an exotic land, with such different perspectives. It was dark out, but these caps glowed in the light of the docks, as the men did their work. Was this the future I was seeing- for had I ever seen such golden caps, of such fine material... Was this a future meeting of East and West.... Or just another view of the present?

Whatever the case, the ship moved on, and I now woke up.
